General News & Housekeeping

Some brief news for me and this website.

You’ll notice that I added a new page to this website called “Downloads.” Ten points to Gryffindor if you can guess what that page offers.

There you will find some of my design work which I’m offering to you for “free” (donations are happily accepted). I also have a running tally of what I still need to create.

Jaden Baker on Kindle Prime

Though I first thought the book’s length would disqualify it for the KDP program, the happy little enroll button was clickable, and Jaden is now available for free reading if you’re an Amazon Prime member. Amazon will help me to promote the book in exchange for me removing the novel from other venues of electronic reading (iBookstore, Barnes and Noble’s Nook) for 90 days. The book can still be purchased anywhere as a paperback.

Book Trailer in Progress

Weeks ago I posted a mood board for the book, in hopes it would both inspire and force me to finally get the trailer going. One year ago today I became a published novelist, and I’m pleased to say the trailer is underway. I’m having to adapt the tools at my disposal to do their best, squeezing every last function out of everything, but the first trailer is coming along!

Going Paleolithic

Human beings always desire more than what they have. This is totally natural and I do not fight it, but go with it. A year ago I became a religious kickboxer, and since then have become addicted to fitness. But my physique and progress plataued. Women who are overweight all say they “just want to tone down and look ‘feminine'” and not have bulging muscles of steel. The problem is, once you get to the “feminine” look, you want more than that, you want to be buffed, you want the six pack abs, the killer legs. After reading a rather frightening article that put into question everything we’ve been instructed about our diets (Heart Surgeon Speaks Out on What Really Causes Heart Disease), I decided to go paleolithic. I’ve only started a few days ago, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

If you know of some great paleo recipes, or know of a store where I can get almond and coconut flour at a discount, please share! That almond flour is expensive.

I’ve heard of Robb Wolf, but hadn’t read that. Loved it! I’ve always been a carnivore, and I LOVE me some beef. He’s a funny writer, thanks for posting.

“Ten points for Gryff?” But I’m Ravenclaw, so I’ll refrain from guessing … and also uploaded a few great photos of CSY 33 onto my Life Afloat facebook page, 😉

What does removing Jaden from other forms of electronic reading mean? Not existing purchased copies, I assume? (Yikes! I loaded a copy onto Dan’s NOOK along with a few other novels without telling him where it came from, just to get his unbiased opinion.)

Ravenclaws are pretty darn neat-o, and they always get along well with the Gryffindors, so I would’ve awarded you points.

I’ll take a look at your CSY photos and see what I can whip up!

I took the ebooks off of iTunes/iBookstore and B&N, but will put them back on sale in June. Existing Nook copies and iBooks will not be changed. If you bought it, you own it.

BTW, I’m loving my Hypervent for my v-berth. I’m an idiot for not putting it in when I first moved aboard. Better late than never, eh?
