Soon and very soon I’ll be living on the hook once more, and with that hopefully going through the great rigamarole of pulling up my anchor (I am without a windlass) and setting sail for destinations far and wide. Though my boat is equipped with a nifty GPS system, it’s best practice to be able to know where one is without the use of technology. It would be just my luck to be crossing a large body of water when my GPS decides it’s been taken advantage of and then go on strike. Therefore I decided to finally open Coastal Navigation by Mike Pyzel, which was loaned to me by some fellow liveaboards at the start of winter. Yes, I’m just now opening it.
